Jason Seiler Master Copy

About a year ago I started this Blog. I was inspired by Jason Seiler's work and his Sketching DVD. I started the blog and put my sketches up to keep me motivated. Some were good some were just terrible, and I've experimented with different styles trying to find myself. I watched Jason's DVD again over Thanksgiving and learned more and decided to try some of the things that so inspired me to start a sketchbook a year ago. This is from a paused screen on his DVD I really want to do Caricatures/Portraits. I don't want photo realistic but I want them to be recognizable and Fun. I'll post more as I go. I still can't get the Scanner thing figured out but anyway. : )
It is Ballpoint pen in a sketchbook about 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Horace the Hammer Sketch-O-Holics

This is for sketch-o-holics too. I kind of blew it on this one, the idea was to do an 1800's era fighter, which I was trying to do, but it came out very modern looking in the end. In retrospect I guess the gloves modernized it, or possibly the colors. Everyone else had much different color schemes, maybe they weren't primary, I'm not sure what they did but I'm going to try and figure it out for the next fighter. I'm also trying to find a style that I like. I did have fun.

Sketch-o-Holics Horn

I found a great place to build my skills. it is called Sketch-o-Holics check it out. They have a topic and a certain amount of time to do it in. it's a lot of fun, I've learned a great deal just in the 3 drawings I've submitted. Someone actually voted for one of my submissions, I was on top of the world, only one vote, but it was a vote : ) this is my entry into Horns.

done in Sketchbook Pro on an iPad.

Horse sketch

My daughter-in-law wants me to make some cartoony pictures of farm animals to put on the wall of the baby's room. So I've started throwing time and energy at it hoping I can get something that looks good. I have an ipad and I'm using it to make these sketches. It isn't the best thing in the world, pretty limited in what you can do, but it is convenient and allows me to save my work easily. thoughts and criticisms are appreciated.
This is about 5 minutes work just a rough sketch quickly colored, without any reference photo's, but I'm hoping to give them a lively feeling.
